Astore Markhor Hunting

Astor markhor hunting is done by the classic spot-and-stalk method, typical for most mountain hunts. The hunters use optics to spot the animals (usually in the morning, when they are most active), and when the suitable old male is located, approach it carefully within range. Mountain animals don’t usually expect danger from above, and the stalk often requires a long and weary detour to rise above the markhor and approach it downwind. In the first years of the program some hunters reported that local guides, while knowing the animals and the territory like the palm of their hand, were not too competent at trophy estimation and other requirements of trophy hunting.

Himalayan Ibex Hunting

Himalayan Ibex hunting is the classical mountain hunt. It starts with getting above the animals and glassing for them, and ends in careful stalk and a long, challenging shot. Occasionally an improvised drive may be undertaken, with the guides pushing the animal to where the hunter is hiding. Most mountains in the country are too steep even for horses.

Punjab Urial Hunting

Punjab Urial hunting is everything what you expect from mountain hunting. An accurate rifle, good spotting scope and binoculars are essential, but even more important is to be ready to cover a lot of ground over hill and dale. The hunting is spot-and-stalk; it may start early in the morning as the hunter and guide(s) move out to be in promising places for spotting to glass the mountains for potential trophies, and end at dark, after many failed approaches to stalk the animal within range.

Sindh Ibex Hunting

Hunting Sindh Ibex (Capra Aegagrus Blythi) in Pakistan is a very convenient 3 hours drive from Karachi - yet a challenging mountain hunting adventure! The Sindh Ibex is very similar to the Bezoar ibex, but a littler smaller in size and lighter in colour. While this ibex inhabits mountain ranges of different elevations up to 11,000 feet, it is generally hunted at a low elevation of 1500 feet above sea level. Hiking in Sindhi terrain can be relatively easy when compared to other mountain hunts! And we can generally drive the animals towards you, however, being in good shape is always a great plus in mountain hunting! The horns of a sindh ibex can be anywhere from 35 - 45 inches, with some exceptional trophies exceeding 49 inches! Anything above 40 inches is considered to be a very good trophy...
